Lorna Kirkwood-Smith is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art (BA Hons Drawing and Painting, 1982). She was awarded an Elizabeth Greenshield travelling scholarship and travelled throughout North India and Nepal. After retiring from a long career in a Scottish university, she has returned to her first passion, art. Working in the realist tradition, her painting is inspired by nature and the beauty of often overlooked details. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and France.
