Paul Kirkwood

Paul is a professional contemporary painter and collage artist based in Queensferry, working from a garden studio overlooking the Forth estuary. His practice is shaped by long-term observation of the shoreline – it’s tides weather, geology and shifting light. Working between representation and abstraction, he uses collage, monotype and layered acrylic washes on handmade papers. Recent travel in Japan has introduced new visual and material dialogues that now sit quietly within this ongoing engagement with the Forth landscape.
