Tansy Lee Moir

Tansy Lee Moir’s artwork is inspired by trees and how their history shapes them. To her they are a solid representation of a life lived: old trees are time made wood. In winter she works in woodlands around the UK, capturing the tree’s energy in expressive charcoal drawings. In the studio she works in charcoal, pastel, oils and printmaking, exploring themes around her own experiences of struggle and loss, resilience and hope, learning what looking at old trees can teach us about ourselves.
